Competition – win US$100 for your short story!

competitionaCan you write a prize-winning short story, memoir or piece of travel writing? StoryMondo runs a quarterly competition for such writing and the winner receives US$100. When submitting a piece of writing for publication by StoryMondo, can you please tell us if you wish it also to be entered for the competition, in which case the rules below will apply.

Competition rules:

1) The competition is open to anyone, anywhere.
2) The closing time and date for the current competition are midnight GMT on 31 March 2015.
3) Each piece of writing must have a title and must not exceed 1,500 words.
4) You can submit text by emailing it to stories@storymondo.com. Please include it in the email body or as an attached Microsoft Word document. You will receive an email confirmation after we receive your submission.
5) Each piece must have a “sense of place” and match the general StoryMondo concept. It will be rejected if the judges decide that it does not met these criteria. For more details, see http://www.storymondo.com/writers/.
6) There is no limit to the number of entries a single entrant can make.
7) No alterations will be accepted after submission.
8) All entries will be judged anonymously.
9) StoryMondo reserves the right to change the judging panel without notice and not to award prizes if, in the judges’ opinion, such an action is justified.
10) The judges’ decision will be final and StoryMondo will not enter into any correspondence regarding this.
11) Each piece must be the original work of the entrant.
12) Material must be written in English.
13) The winner will be notified by 31 April 2015.
14) The copyright of each piece remains with the author. However, by entering the competition, all authors grant StoryMondo the right to publish their entry or entries on the StoryMondo website for one year from the closing date of the competition.
15) The prize of US$100 will be paid by internet transfer to the winner’s bank account by 7 May 2015.
