Mongolia is a landlocked country located between China and Russia. With only 1.7 people per square kilometre, Mongolia has the lowest population density of any independent country and it is one of the last few places on earth where nomadic life is still a living tradition. Mongolian winters are bitterly cold but the sun shines on about 250 days each year. The Bactrian camel and the pet gerbil are both native to Mongolia.
