|Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is a sovereign country in the Lesser Antilles island chain. It is located in the southern area of the Windward Islands, in the eastern Caribbean Sea bordered by the Atlantic Ocean. Saint Vincent is the largest and the main island, while the Grenadines, which consist of more than 600 islands, lie south of Saint Vincent. Saint Vincent’s economy depends largely on tourism and the banana production. The popular “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies were filmed mainly in these islands and have been a boost to the tourism industry.
