|The Sudan is found in the Nile Valley region of Northern Africa. The country borders Egypt, the Red Sea, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Chad and Libya. Due to an extensive war, slavery, and human rights abuses, this country’s infrastructure and economy is almost non-existent. The land is characterized by mainly flat plains with a few mountain ranges. The dry north deals with heavy sandstorms that can block out the sky. The Blue Nile and White Nile, which run through the land, join to form the famous River Nile which then flows north through the country.
