The Republic of Tajikistan is a landlocked country found in Central Asia. It is bordered by Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and China. It is a very mountainous country with 97% of the terrain covered by mountains with several picturesque lakes. Tajikistan exports mainly cotton, aluminum and uranium to boost its flagging economy. Once a member of the former Soviet Union, Tajikistan is now an independent country. The Tajik people are very similar to people from Persia and 70% of the population is under 30 years old.
