Uzbekistan is found in Central Asia and is a doubly landlocked country meaning that it is completely surrounded by other landlocked countries. It is bordered by Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan and Turkmenistan. Once belonging to the former Soviet Union, this country still struggles with many factors that once characterized that nation such as complete lack of freedom of speech. 90% of the population is Muslim. The country also has the 4th largest gold deposits in the world.
