StoryMondo is an exciting new website where you can publish your short stories and verse. But the writing we publish is special. It must have a “sense of place” – it must in some way describe or evoke a particular location.
We publish two kinds of writing:
|Short stories||up to 1,500 words long, these can include folk tales and legends, new or retold; travellers’ tales about places you have visited; and memoirs or stories about places you have known, where you grew up or where you live|
|Verse||haiku, sonnets or other forms of poetry|
Your writing can be aimed at adults or children and can be on any topic – but it must always have a connection with real physical places such as cities, mountains, rivers, buildings and countries, and so can be shown by a symbol on the StoryMondo map. Plus, it must not be potentially offensive or contain unreasonable sex or violence.
We do not charge or pay to publish material. Authors are identified on our website and retain copyright and we display any relevant website links that you give us. The same conditions apply to the images which we use. If third parties approach us about your writing or about you, we will pass on their queries direct to you, without charge to you and without ourselves being involved in any negotiations which may follow.
